Sector 35, Hyde Park service road, Kharghar. What was a slope of red laterite and rubble now holds neem, bel, banana, papaya, jamun, drumstick, guava, tulsi and giloy. The Butterfly Sanctuary at its gate is a joint community initiative of WAY2 ISR Foundation and MeghVin Foundation.
- 700+ trees planted and watered through three summers
- Neem seed nursery: seeds brought from Gujarat, cleaned, dried and sown in beds
- Sankalp of 1 lakh neem plants taken before Rath Yatra 2026
- Organic only: Dashparni Ark pesticide made from leaves, no chemicals
- Black-carpet pathway, supports and fencing built by volunteers

What we plant, and why
Neem
Purifies air, shades the road and needs almost no water once established. Our main sankalp species.
Bel (Belpatra)
Sacred to Lord Shiva; leaves, fruit and bark are used in Ayurveda. Food and shelter for birds.
Banana and papaya
Food and income within a year. Grown fully organic for visitors and for the kitchen.
Giloy, tulsi, jamun
Ayurvedic immunity plants. Every visitor goes home with a tulsi sapling.

Four steps to a living tree

Healthy sapling
Raised in our own nursery from seed, or bought from a certified nursery.

Proper planting
Pit, red soil and manure, planted in the monsoon.

Care
Support stake, weekly water in dry months, trimming, organic pest control.
4
Three-year check
Photo log and survival check every season for three years.
Bring your society, school or office for a plantation morning. We provide saplings, tools and tea.
